The Computer Science major provides graduates with a thorough understanding of the key principles and practices of computing, and the mathematical and scientific principles that underpin them. In addition to an in-depth technical knowledge, a computer science major builds on a broad education and a sense of how computer science is used and how it affects people and society. Students also have the opportunity to become involved in the Association for Computing Machinery(ACM) professional society.
Graduates typically work as a software engineer, consultant, programmer/analyst, computer scientist, systems programmer, or database administrator. Other graduates continue their education in graduate school.
